Although no formal announcement has appeared on the regulator's website, we understand that two significant decisions were communicated to the NTS Focus Group last week.

0870 Numbers

Ofcom announced a delay in the implementation of 0870 regulatory changes until at least Spring/Summer due to concerns about the safety of pre-call announcements and that they are in breach of international regulations. 1st February 2008 is therefore not applicable, although no firm date has been set.

0871 Numbers

Ofcom announced a delay in the implementation of 0871 regulatory changes until at least Spring/Summer due to the tardiness of the Statement from PhonePayPlus (formerly ICSTIS). Questions regarding the levy for 0871 premium rate regulation remain unanswered. 1st February 2008 is therefore not applicable, although no firm date has been set.

Further information

We will notify customers of further developments via the website as and when further information becomes available from Ofcom.
